How do I prove usage and ROI so accounts renew and expand?

Renewals go smoothly when the buyer can show their boss what the app changed.

How app founders ask it
  • Buyers ask what they're getting.
  • How do we measure ROI?
  • When do we start the renewal talk?

✓ Answer

Record a baseline before rollout, such as time per task, errors or paperwork. Send regular reports on usage and outcomes compared to that baseline, by team. Hold a review 60 to 90 days before renewal with the results, open issues and an expansion proposal. Track net revenue retention.

What to report

  • Active users by team.
  • Tasks completed.
  • Time saved versus baseline.
  • Issues fixed.
  • Next teams or features.

Watch out for
  • No baseline.
  • Reports only at renewal.
  • Usage without outcomes.
  • Late renewal talks.
