Consultant question · Finding clients

How do I use case studies when clients want confidentiality?

The best consulting work is often confidential. You can still show proof without breaking trust.

How consultants ask it
  • Clients won't let me name them.
  • Are anonymous case studies useful?
  • What can I share?

✓ Answer

Describe the client type, problem, approach and result without naming them: "a 200-person logistics company". Use ranges instead of exact figures and get the client's approval for the text. Offer private references on request. Ask for a quote they're comfortable attaching to a title only. Agree on what you can share in your contract.
