Agritech question · Selling to farms and greenhouses

How do I sell technology to commercial greenhouse operations?

Greenhouses run like factories: year-round production, tight margins, high energy and labour costs. They buy technology that pays back, and they ask hard technical questions.

How agtech founders ask it
  • Who buys in a greenhouse?
  • How is it different from farms?
  • What do they need to see?

Map the buying group: owner or general manager, head grower, technical or facilities manager and sometimes finance. Lead with the cost they feel most, such as energy, labour, crop loss or compliance. Show payback per square metre or per crop cycle, with data from greenhouses growing the same crop. Be ready to explain how you work with their climate computer, irrigation and lighting. Time installs around crop changeovers, not your quarter-end.
